My Review of Hilary’s (Sept 2nd) Anahiem Concert

Hi everyone, I’ve posted here before but it’s been a long time. Anyway here is my review of yesterday’s Hilary Concert.
(For anyone who want’s to know more about me just check my profile. Oh, and I’m one year and one day older than Hilary.)
Hilary Duff Concert Review
Whether you want it or not, here’s my review of Hilary Duff’s September 2nd concert in Anaheim California.
My biggest complaint was the wait. The Concert was scheduled to start at 7pm and we didn’t see the opening act until 7:30ish. And Hilary wasn’t on herself until after 8pm.
Haylie Duff (Hilary’s older sister) was the opening act (as I’m sure most of you already knew) and I wanted to go to see her perform as much as I wanted to see Hilary. Her Set lasted about 20 minutes and included 5 songs. The first was “Girl in the Band” from the Lizzie McGuire Movie Soundtrack. The Second was “Screwed” which she described as “my first single” – and it will be, if she can beat out Paris Hilton… Anyway, the other 3 songs she didn’t give titles for, so I can’t repeat them here. Haylie was good, but they had the sound mixed horribly so it was real hard to hear the words, which is a problem when we (the audience) haven’t heard the song before and don’t know what the words are. I’m looking forward to the release of Haylie’s album to find out just what the words we’re! Also interesting, Haylie used/borrowed Hilary’s band, but only 2 of the 3 backup singers. I thought the third might be sick or something, but she was there when Hilary was on stage, so there goes that theory.
Anyway, after Haylie’s set there was about 20 before the “real” concert began. During this time they showed the ad for Hilary’s new album twice, A “Video Now” ad and “Gillette Venus” ad (Hilary is a paid sponsor after all), an ad for the Cinderella Story soundtrack, and an ad for Hilary’s new movie “Raise your Voice.” Oh and they sold well over 200 Blue glowsticks during that break. And yes the glowsticks are $10.
Anyway, about 8:10 was when Hilary came out on stage. She wore A black tank top with jeans, tennis shoes (which she took off for the My Generation encore, and was just barefooted), one arm warmer on her left hand, about 30 bracelet’s o her right, and her belt buckle was a skull turned sideways. The Song lineup went something like this:
The Girl can rock
Little Voice
Weird
Come Clean
So Yesterday
Anywhere but here
Haters
Metamorphosis
Where did I go Right
Don’t you want me?
Workin’ it out
Rock this world
Why Not
Fly
With the “Encores” (We all knew they were planned from the start.)
Our Lips are sealed
My Generation
Of course, that list is completely reconstructed from memory, so I may have the order wrong, but those were (100% sure) the songs she preformed.
On Good Morning America Hilary and Haylie used and talked about the Pink Microphones they got for their tour. The wired thing was they didn’t use them except for the two encores.
It’s obvious from her new songs (Weird, Haters, Don’t you want me, Rock this world, and Fly) that her second album will be more Punk-Pop (such a contradiction in terms it made me shutter a little when I wrote it) than Pop-Pop. I absolutely love “Fly” I encourage everyone (and I mean everyone on the planet, all 6 billion) to go buy it on iTunes right now.
I’m sure some of you will get a laugh from this, at the concert because they anticipated a lot of girls they changed most of the Men’s bathrooms at The Pond into women’s restrooms! I’ve never seen that one before… And before anyone asks the average age was defiantly in the tweens (the age group 8-13 years old).
So in summary besides the wait and the fact that the band drowned out the girl’s lyrics it was great. I do wish she had sung “The Math” – It is one of her best songs after all…
And remember Hilary’s Second Album comes out in 3 1/2 weeks!
