You know, I never could figure out the reasons why Zei became the force that she did and the nuclear fallout from her becoming so powerful. As best I could tell, you somehow had an attraction to her (even though she was so young) and developed some kind of strong relationship that clouded your judgement. That relationship ultimately lead to all the problems on the site among the admins/staff and caused all the drama.
I could be way off, but in hindsight what is your opinion of that assessment?
I don’t really like the use of the word “attraction.” I used to (and still do to a lesser extent) see Zei as the little sister I never had. Did she use me? I’m sure she did from time to time, but I was not her puppet like some people would suggest. When Adam turned on me and elevated RiPPy to admin, Zei was the only person who was actively helping me take the site back. She didn’t have to do that but she did. We had been close before that time, but that’s what made me trust her with more power over the site, and I’d still do the same thing today.
I was very happy with the state and direction of SDS as it was one year ago. It was only once people who (minus Adam) had never been involved in SDS decided that the show was going the wrong way did things go bad. Phil purposefully promoted Zei to SDS co-admin (without my knowledge) with the intent of using the pressure of the position to make her crack, and as a result of that “force” me to change to conform to what they wanted.
The problem was really that once KP was saved, there was nothing Adam could do for the site where he got the kind of respect that he wanted. I started the Save Phil movement and had a lot of people looking up to me. They didn’t give a crap about Adam, and he was jealous because he’s a better web designer than me, but didn’t get the credit anymore.
After all, it’s only in the KP fandom that there are people that disagree with my management of SDS. PotF, ADJL (pre-alliance), and W.I.T.C.H. fans have never raised any objections to how SDS runs movements.
So to answer your question, no, I don’t think Zei was the problem. I don’t think my relationship with Zei was the problem. I think the problem was Adam’s jealousy and desire for respect.
