Selling stuff on Amazon

Posted on: Wednesday, January 30th, 2008 in: Web Design Projects

I used to sell a lot of my old books and junk on Amazon.com but until recently I got out of the habit.

I’ve listed a bunch more stuff now, which you can see here:

Also, I think my laptop’s fixed now. :)

Busy Busy Bloggers!

This is my third blog of the day. LOL

roycereece posted a good political candidate chooser link on the SDS forum today. That link is: http://wqad.com/global/link.asp?L=259460

I took it, and as expected, it said I agree with Rudy Giuliani on most issues. Surprisingly, it said Dennis Kucinich was my #2 followed Mitt Romney at #3. And even stranger, that site says I would prefer Hillary Clinton (score 22) over John McCain (score 20)!

Engineering Vista Wallpapers? (AKA: Random Blog #1)

Posted on: Friday, January 25th, 2008 in: School Daze

So last night I left my laptop running for an hour and when I came back the screen was blank. Not sure what was wrong with it, I tried a ctrl-alt-del and the computer instantly powered off proceeded to re-boot. I never was able to get it to boot  after about an hour of trying. I don’t know what’s wrong with and will have to try a few other things.

So today I took my older laptop to school with me, and that’s what I’m using to write this post now. I met my ME175B group in the Mechanical Engineering Lab today and pulled out my laptop because I needed Internet access and there where no more working computers available in the lab. I normally change up my computer wallpaper every couple weeks, but once I stopped using this computer I  left the current one up. So when everyone saw this:

I got to spend a few minutes discussing what I thought of Lindsay and Hilary. This was never my favorite wallpaper, but I do still think it’s a decent photo of Hilary. Anyway, I then decided to change my wallpaper to something a little more appropriate:

And then I had to explain who Ashley Tisdale is! LOL

The weirdest thing is, when Nick asked me who she was, my first reaction was to say “She was in High School Musical 2.” Why did I add the 2? Just saying “High School Musical” or “Disney Channel” probably would have been better. Oh well, not important.

I hope I can get my primary laptop back up and running. I have Hayden Panettiere as my new desktop only on that machine. Actually, I do have a thumbnail of it:

But I don’t have the full size or the source file to remake it. :(

My New WOWP Websites!

Posted on: Thursday, January 24th, 2008 in: Web Design Projects

If you’re a fan of the new DC series, The Wizards of Waverly Place read on! [If you're not, read anyway :) ] First of all, I’ve set up a nifty little site for Wizards with some basic information on the show, so that should this show ever meet a fate similar to Phil we’ll be ready! The informational site is WizardsOfWaverlyPlace.info. Please, even if you aren’t a fan, do what you can to spread the link online so that if/when the time comes Wizards fans can find us!

But it get better, not only do we have that informational site, but I’ve also created a whole brand new phpBB3 forum just for Wizards fans! You can find the forums at wowpfans.com. This is a NEW forum that is independent of any external rules, relationships, etc. This forum will be shaped solely by the people who join it – much like the W.I.T.C.H. Forum is/was.

You know, I never could figure out the reasons why Zei became the force that she did and the nuclear fallout from her becoming so powerful. As best I could tell, you somehow had an attraction to her (even though she was so young) and developed some kind of strong relationship that clouded your judgement. That relationship ultimately lead to all the problems on the site among the admins/staff and caused all the drama.

I could be way off, but in hindsight what is your opinion of that assessment?

I don’t really like the use of the word “attraction.” I used to (and still do to a lesser extent) see Zei as the little sister I never had. Did she use me? I’m sure she did from time to time, but I was not her puppet like some people would suggest. When Adam turned on me and elevated RiPPy to admin, Zei was the only person who was actively helping me take the site back. She didn’t have to do that but she did. We had been close before that time, but that’s what made me trust her with more power over the site, and I’d still do the same thing today.

I was very happy with the state and direction of SDS as it was one year ago. It was only once people who (minus Adam) had never been involved in SDS decided that the show was going the wrong way did things go bad. Phil purposefully promoted Zei to SDS co-admin (without my knowledge) with the intent of using the pressure of the position to make her crack, and as a result of that “force” me to change to conform to what they wanted.

The problem was really that once KP was saved, there was nothing Adam could do for the site where he got the kind of respect that he wanted. I started the Save Phil movement and had a lot of people looking up to me. They didn’t give a crap about Adam, and he was jealous because he’s a better web designer than me, but didn’t get the credit anymore.

After all, it’s only in the KP fandom that there are people that disagree with my management of SDS. PotF, ADJL (pre-alliance), and W.I.T.C.H. fans have never raised any objections to how SDS runs movements.

So to answer your question, no, I don’t think Zei was the problem. I don’t think my relationship with Zei was the problem. I think the problem was Adam’s jealousy and desire for respect.

Thoughts on Iowa

Posted on: Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 in: School Daze

Anyway, Hilary got a political whipping tonight in Iowa. Obama beat her by 9% and Edwards managed to edge her out as well. So much for being inevitable! Laughing

On the republican side, Huckabee beat Romney by, one again, a 9% margin. I’m still for Guliani, but I like Huckabee and am quite pleased that Romney didn’t win.

Five days ’til New Hampshire! Grin
