Some Old Amy Bruckner Screencaps

Posted on: Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 in: Adventures in La La Land

I doubt any of you would have remembered, but a few weeks ago I found an old DVD which contained footage of the first ever DC games, and the first episode of WITCH season two. It also contained something I never thought I’d see again, Amy Bruckner’s DC cast opening intro.

As I’m sure you all remember, I had the opportunity to meet Amy, so finding this footage brought back many good memories.

And of course, I’ve added screencaps of it to DC Fans.

A few thoughts on 24

Posted on: Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 in: Web Design Projects

Everyone always asks me if Kim Possible is my favorite TV show ever. And it’s close, second place in fact, but my favorite show for as long as I can remember has been Fox’s 24. I even used to go so far as trying to arrange my college classes so that I’d be free to watch it live. And I remember how I used to be so annoyed when my required Bio 5 discussion made me miss the first half of the show for one quarter.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that I also specially aranged my classes my senior year of college, the show was held up due to the writer’s strike. This newest season has been a long time coming, and I’m quite impressed so far. It definitely has a different feel than the last season, but that’s a good thing.

I’m glad to see that the Jack Bauer Torture Report is back up. Whoever you are that writes this thing, I just love your analysis.

And this new FBI chick Agent Walker is simply too cute and too interesting of a character to die.

At least, to cute and interesting to die this early in the season. Besides, someone has to be left to say “Jack’s telling the truth. He risked his own skin not to kill me” later.

Plus, it’s great to have Tony back. Besides Jack, he has always been my favorite chracter.

Chelsea Staub

So I was poking around on OceanUp a couple days ago and Chelsea Staub caught my eye. I’ve never seen Minutemen, but she looked pretty cute in the pics I saw. And according to IMDb, she’s legal so that’s a plus.

She’s apparently gonna be in the much discussed but never confirmed J.O.N.A.S. series, so I figured I better grab a domain wile I still can.

And to my surprise, a whole ton of domains where already taken! So with a .net or even a .us out of the question, I decided to take the .ws while I still could!

With that said, I am proud to announce that I am the proud new owner of ChelseaStaub.ws. There isn’t anything there yet, but there will be eventually! :)

Brenda & Olesya Fansites

Posted on: Sunday, January 4th, 2009 in: Web Design Projects

I got a couple new domains, but before I get into that, a little background.

I’ve been working the past week or so on trying to pull a little more money out of my websites. I hate how many sites plaster ads and trigger half a dozen popus. And I think that’s cheap, anyoing, and I won’t have it on my sites. But the question then, is how can I promote more ads without going that route?

Fix Disney Banner Exchange

My previous attempt was the Fix Disney Banner Exchange project. And despite rather heavy promotion across all my sites, I didn’t really get anywhere. And the kicker, The old Disney Banner Exchange site is still down, leaving the market wide open!

So for now, my focus is to build upon the sucess of Disney Channel Fans and to convert the existing and future trafic into increased ad revenue. And what I’ve got so far is a good start, but I’m going to need more.

With that in mind, I had several domain names up for renewal this weekend. And as much as it pained me to do so, I had to drop (delete, not renew) several of them.  The others, like DisneyCaps.com I renewed.

In addition to the renewals, I decided to get two new domains: BrendaSong.ws and OlesyaRulin.org. Why these two you ask? Well, I already have quite a bit of news for both of them on DC Fans, so it’s a logical expansion. And because these are sites that I have content ready for, I should be able to get them up and going rather quickly and easily – which means they should have decent turn around times before they start pushing trafic back to DC Fans. and by that, start making money.

At least, that’s the theory.
